Third witness takes the stand in Oscar murder trial

A second State witness in the murder trial of Oscar Pistorius has told the court she heard loud voices from his home the night that he shot and killed his girlfriend, Reeva Steenkamp.

Taking the stand just before lunch on day two of the trial, Estelle van der Merwe told the Pretoria High Court that she woke up at around 2am by what sounded like people fighting.

She said it last for about an hour.

Van der Merwe lives in the Silver Wood Country Estate, the same complex where Pistorius shot Steenkamp through a locked toilet door on Valentine's Day last year,.

Earlier, the first witness, Michelle Burger, was grilled for a second day by Pistorius's lawyer, Barry Roux, who tried to cast doubt on her credibility and find contradictions between her
written statement to the police and her testimony on the stand.

Burger's husband, Charles Johnson, is currently on the stand.

He too recounted hearing screams and several gunshots.
