The Institute for Communicable Diseases has confirmed a third case of the coronavirus in South Africa.
The Institute said on Twitter on Sunday that it had received the results of the first patient's wife, who was in direct contact with him.
She also travelled with him to Italy as part of a group of ten, and tested positive for the COVID-19 virus, bringing the number of confirmed cases in SA to three.
The Institute says it expects the results of the other six members of the group who travelled to Italy within the next 48 hours.
