Two teenagers are expected to appear in the De Aar Magistrates Court in the Northern Cape on Wednesday for allegedly stealing 80 racing pigeons from a property in town.
Police spokesperson Captain Olebogeng Tawana says the suspects aged 14 and 18 were arrested on Friday last week after police received a tip-off.
He says the teens were found in possession of some of the birds that were positively identified by the owner.
Police could only manage to recover eight birds.
The total value of the 80 birds is estimated to be R140 000.
