A 17-year-old suspect was arrested for the murder of an 11-year-old girl in Kwazulu Natal.
Police say the teenager was arrested on Wednesday.
His arrest follows the discovery of the body of 11-year-old Amanda Mthembu in a sugar-cane field in Dokodweni Reserve.
Mthembu went missing on the 14th of June and her body was discovered ten days later.
She had allegedly been strangled and was found naked.
A police spokesperson says the teenage suspect will face charges of rape and murder when he appears in the Mtuzini Magistrate's Court on Friday.
