Oudtshoorn police have arrested 15-year-old girl for allegedly kidnapping a three-week-old baby.
Police spokesperson, captain Malcolm Pojie, says the teenager was arrested in Ladismith on Tuesday after information was followed up by the investigating officer.
He says the teenager cannot be named but will appear in the Oudtshoorn magistrates' Wednesday on a charge of kidnapping.
Pojie says the baby is reported to be in a good healthy condition but will be taken for a medical examination soon.
He says consultations will be held with the Department of Social development to place the child in a place of safety.
The baby was allegedly kidnapped by the teen last Thursday.
