A 17-year-old has been arrested for allegedly killing his 15-year-old girlfriend in Motetema, Limpopo.
“The suspect was nabbed soon after the discovery of the body of a 15-year-old girl. The deceased was found lying dead on top of the Tafelkop mountain with multiple injuries throughout her body by a passerby who immediately informed the police,” said police spokesman, Lieutenant Colonel Moatshe Ngoepe.
“Police work led to the arrest of the deceased’s boyfriend after preliminary investigations connected the suspect to the incident.”
The two were learners at Buleu High School in the area.
Ngoepe added that investigators were probing an allegation that the boy was forcing the girlfriend to terminate her pregnancy, which led to the murder.
