Mineral Resources Minister, Susan Shabangu says a task team will be set up to look into labour issues in the platinum industry.
She says the team will consist of people from the industry, unions, government and traditional leadership.
Shabangu says the Association of Mineworkers and Construction Union will be invited to give input to the task team.
The minister made the announcement late yesterday, at the close of a day-long meeting with the National Union of Mineworker, Solidarity, Lonmin, Chamber of Mines and other mining companies.
The departments of mineral resources and labour co-ordinated the meeting.
