A man has been arrested in connection with the spate of mall robberies in Gauteng.
Provincial police commissioner Lieutenant-General Lesetja Mothiba says they have information that could possibly link the suspect to up to 17 armed robberies in and around the province.
He says some of the cases that the suspect is involved in are cellphone shop robberies in Benoni, Witbank, Vereeniging, Linden, Sandton, Midrand, Lyttelton and Honeydew
The man, in his 30's, was arrested in Polokwane, Limpopo, on Thursday, apparently while on his way to Zimbabwe.
He is expected to appear in the Randburg Magistrate's Court soon.
