A suspect from Gauteng who is currently out on bail for impersonating a police officer is back behind bars for committing the same offence.
Police spokesperson Colonel Dimakatso Sello says in recent weeks Gauteng detectives have launched a manhunt for blue light robbers and people who use police uniforms to commit robberies and hijackings in the province.
He says 50 suspects have already been arrested since March this year.
In the latest arrest earlier this week police raided a house in Ivory Park where they recovered SAPS and Tshwane Metro police uniforms, and 6 magazines for different rifles as well as a pistol with over 100 rounds of ammunition.
The suspect, who is out on bail for attempting to hijack a truck in Mooinooi while wearing a police uniform earlier this year, will appear in court on Friday on a string of charges.
