The National Prosecuting Authority has confirmed a 25-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the murder of Bafana Bafana captain and goalkeeper Senzo Meyiwa.
The NPA's Nathi Mncube says Zanokuhle Mbatha appeared in the Boksburg Magistrates Court on Friday on a charge of murder and robbery with aggravating circumstances...
"The accused will appear again on 11 November. He elected to apply for legal aid the application will be processed (on that date). He will remain in custody until his next court appearance."
Meyiwa was shot and killed during an alleged house robbery in Vosloorus on Gauteng's East Rand last Sunday.
He will be buried in Durban on Saturday at a service at Moses Mabhida Stadium.
