The National Student Financial Aid Scheme said its systems will remain open this weekend for online applications for student financial aid.
Spokesperson Kagisho Mamabolo said the system will remain online until midnight on Sunday.
But, he's cautioned that no late applications will be received thereafter.
Mamabolo says the opportunity to apply is applicable to all South African citizens wishing to enroll for the first time in 2019 as well as returning South African students who were never funded by NSFAS for undergraduate studies.
He said that the weekend window should be used as an opportunity for those with missing supporting documents to submit them.
