Parliament says a request by the DA to start a process to remove the Public Protector is receiving attention from the Speaker of the National Assembly.
In a statement on Saturday, Parliament said that Thandi Modise had written to the chief whip of the opposition party, John Steenhuisen.
It says Modise is seeking advice on how to deal with the request, as some structures of the new Parliament haven't been established yet.
The DA wrote to the Speaker, after the North Gauteng High Court set aside Busisiwe Mkhwebane's report into the Vrede Dairy Project.
The court said she had failed in her duties to investigate the matter.
The DA says there are other instances that have cast doubt on Mkhwebane's fitness to hold office.
It has accused her of having compromised the integrity of the office, saying she had demonstrated a poor understanding of both the law as well as her own powers.
