Soldier killed in roadblock accident on N12

The Minister of Transport Fikile Mbalula has expressed his condolences to the family of a soldier who died at a multi-disciplinary roadblock on the N12 in Gauteng on Tuesday.

The soldier was killed after being run over by a truck.

The truck slammed into the roadblock after allegedly experiencing brake failure before veering over the road and overturning.

A motorist who was injured in the accident was transported to a nearby hospital.

The identity of the soldier is not yet known.
