Soldier arrested for double murder

An off duty soldier has been arrested in Kwazulu Natal for allegedly killing two civilians on Saturday.

The South African National Defence Force (SANDF) says the soldier was not on duty at the time.

The incident took place at Golela, just east of Pongola at his girlfriend's house.

It is alleged that an argument broke out which led to the killings.

The soldier is currently in police custody and will appear in court soon.
