That was from R19.7m in July and R17.9m in June.
Sacci says this is the lowest point in the Barometer since September 2011 and a welcome indication of a downward trend in copper theft despite recent spikes in the series, most notably of R34.7m in March.
The national business chambers says its Copper Theft Volume Indicator recorded a level of 273 metric tons in August down from 315 tons in July and 288 tons in June.
