Six women killed in Limpopo bus crash

Six people, including the driver, were killed when a bus crashed in a village in Limpopo on Sunday.

The Transport Department said one woman sustained serious injuries while several other passengers were slightly hurt.

Department spokesperson, Ayanda Allie-Paine, said in a statement on Sunday that the deceased were all females.

She said Home Affairs Minister, Dr. Aaron Motsoaledi, Deputy Minister of Transport Dikeledi Magadzi and Limpopo Transport MEC Dickson Masemola were on the scene, assisting emergency medical services personnel.

“The investigation into the exact cause of the crash is still underway,” Allie-Paine said.

Transport Minister Fikile Mbalula sent his condolences to the families of the deceased.
