Six people have been burned to death when a bus carrying mineworkers to a night shift, was set alight by assailants on Monday night.
Limpopo police have now established a high-level team to track down two men who boarded the bus and set it on fire.
Police spokesperson, Brigadier Motlafela Mojapelo, says the incident happened at Driekop Village outside Burgersfort at around 8 pm.
"The Preliminary investigation indicates that the bus service that was transporting mineworkers, stopped to pick up some workers on their way to the night shift. Two people then got onto the bus and set it alight" he said.
Mojapelo says six people died and 28 others managed to escape with injuries.
He says they are offering a reward of R500 000 for any person who can give them valuable information that can lead to an arrest and possible prosecution.
The victims were all from the Modikwa Platinum Mine.
