Six people have been killed in a collision between an articulated truck and two motor vehicles on the N17 near Delmas in Mpumalanga.
ER24's Werner Vermaak says one of the vehicles was completely ripped apart and all of its occupants were ejected.
He says three people from the vehicle were declared dead at the scene.
Vermaak says in the second car, a woman had died and was trapped inside.
He says two other occupants, believed to be her husband and son, were found close to the vehicle, and were also declared dead.
The driver of the truck sustained no physical injuries.
The cause of the accident is not yet known.
