Six people, including four pedestrians, were killed in a multi-vehicle crash in Mokopane in Limpopo.
Authorities believe that a truck’s brakes had failed causing it to crash into five vehicles on Wednesday.
Limpopo Traffic spokesperson, Mike Maringa said the truck and vehicle subsequently burst into flames.
He said it was alleged that the brakes had failed on the truck at an intersection, smashing into five cars and knocking over and killing four pedestrians before crashing into a bank building.
Maring said the truck drive and his passenger were also killed in the horror crash.
Limpopo Transport MEC, Mavhungu Lerule-Ramakhanya said the increase in fatal accidents in the province where vehicles caught alight was a cause for concern.
