Six farm workers were killed in a head-on collision between two trucks on the N1 near Montagu in the Western Cape on Tuesday morning.
Eleven other injured farmworkers have been admitted to a hospital in Worcester.
One person with serious injuries was airlifted from the scene.
Provincial Traffic Chief, Kenny Africa says the accident happened between Touws River and the Hex River Pass.
He says there were 29 farmworkers on the truck at the time of the accident.
Medical teams are still on the scene and the cause of the accident is being investigated.
