At the Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions SA media briefing on Tuesday, a group of businessmen who hold shares in Woolworths, made it clear that they had concerns regarding the increasingly irresponsible manner in which management were handling the campaign.
In August, BDS SA began a campaign to boycott Woolworths over its trade relations with Israel, following the war in Gaza.
Shareholder representative, Nadia Hassen says the businessmen are of the view that management of Woolworths should meet with the activists, regardless of whether the company agrees with them or not.
Last week, Woolworths applied for an interdict in the High Court in Johannesburg to prevent pro-Palestine activists from protesting in its stores.
