Severe weather: Durban, public urged to stay indoors (WATCH)


DURBAN, 10 October 2017 (ANA) – KwaZulu-Natal paramedics were on Tuesday dealing with multiple injuries as a result of inclement weather on as gale force winds, thunderstorms and heavy rain lashed the province.

Rescue Care paramedics warned motorists to avoid the south parts of Durban.
 
At Amanzimtoti, Rescue Care paramedics were called to a below road-level home which had flooded and in which residents were trapped. Earlier, the paramedics assisted commuters to exit a taxi that was stuck in a ditch on the N2 near Galleria mall, as water rose around it.
 
Visibility was severely diminished due to rain and gale force winds were recorded.
