Seven perish in taxi crash

Seven people died and eight were injured when a minibus taxi overturned near Rockydrift in Nelspruit.

ER24 says the taxi was found lying in the veld about 10 metres from the R-40 on Friday morning.

Spokesperson, Russel Meiring, says the injured were treated on the scene before being taken to hospital.

Meiring said one person sustained severe injuries and had to be airlifted to hospital.

The cause of the accident was not known.
