Sentencing today for 2009 murder of baby Wade

 A couple convicted of the murder of their two-month-old baby will be sentenced in the Pretoria High Court on Tuesday.

The State had called for life imprisonment for Marissa Rudman and Nolan Schoeman for the murder of their baby, Wade.

He died in April 2009 from extensive brain injuries.

A pathologist who testified during the trial said she had never seen a baby with such severe injuries.

Both Rudman and Schoeman have denied responsibility for Wade's death.
