A senior official from the National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) in the North-West Province has been suspended after an alleged shoplifting incident in February this year.
A spokesperson for the NPA Henry Mamothame says the 53-year-old Jeanette Nevelling, who is the head of the Special Commercial Crimes Unit in the province, allegedly stole goods at a Woolworths store in The Crossing Shopping Mall in Mmabatho.
He says the case against Nevelling has been postponed to 1 June for further investigation.
The goods, allegedly stolen by Nevelling is estimated to be at least R3 000.
She is currently out on bail of R500.
