The Department of Correctional Services has launched an investigation into another attack on Clive Derby Lewis in a Pretoria prison.
The attack occurred on Sunday afternoon when he was injured by another inmate with a piece of glass.
The Department says the injury is "minor", and Derby-Lewis was treated at the prison's clinic.
Department spokesperson, Manelisi Wolela, says the latest injury will not interfere with Derby Lewis' planned hospital visit on Monday morning as part of his application, in line with a recent court ruling.
Derby-Lewis and Polish immigrant Janus Walusz were stabbed with a sharpened spoon by an inmate in February.
The pair are serving life sentences for the murder of SA Communist Party leader, Chris Hani.
