A former high school sports coach from Springs on the East Rand has been sentenced to an effective 21 years in prison for raping two boys and sexually assaulting three others.
Twenty nine year-old Jacques Strydom was arrested in 2009 after five pupils at the Huguenot High School lodged complaints against him.
He pleaded guilty to all five charges.
Only one of Strydom's victims was at the Benoni Regional Court on Monday when magistrate Ian Cox sentenced him.
He said Strydom had targeted vulnerable or problem children, and groomed them for abuse.
