Western Cape police are searching for three gunmen who shot and killed the principal of a primary school in Walacedene, in Kraaifontein.
Police spokesperson, Captain Frederick van Wyk, said a woman was also wounded in Thursday morning’s incident.
He said the 54-year-old man and the unidentified woman arrived at the school in Henzikile Street at about 07:00.
“Three unidentified males approached the victims’ vehicle and opened fire at them, which led to the death of a 54-year-old male and injured a female who was admitted to hospital.
“The suspects fled the scene in an unknown vehicle,” Van Wyk said.
He said police were appealing to anyone with information about the incident to contact the investigating officer Detective Colonel Eddie Clark on 082 469 1531 or Crime Stop on 08600 10111.
