SARS Commissioner, Edward Kieswetter, has launched the country's first-ever virtual tax filing season.
He says there will be no physical branches open for in-person public engagement for at least the next six weeks.
Kieswetter said Covid19 pandemic had thrust everyone into a changed environment and SARS had used this crisis to accelerate its own modernisation journey.
SARS also have started sending out automatic assessments for individual taxpayers, an initiative that was launched last year.
