Three SAPS Generals from Limpopo appeared in court on Wednesday on charges of corruption.
The Independent Police Investigative Directorate said they were 62-year-old former Provincial Commissioner of Limpopo, Lieutenant-General Nneke Ledwaba, 63-year-old Major-General Nyikeni Baloyi, and 58-year-old Major-General Hlagodi Christina Morakaladi.
IPID spokesperson, Robbie Raburabu, said Ledwaba and Baloyi have since retired from active duties, while Morakaladi is still serving in the SAPS.
He said the Generals were members of the selection panel interviewing candidates for station commander positions that had been advertised in the province.
Raburabu said it is alleged that they colluded to tamper with the scoresheets in favour of a candidate to the prejudice of a more “deserving candidate.”
The three Generals will be back in court on 3 August.
