The North West Province police have confirmed that a sexual harassment case has been opened against ANC Western Cape chairperson Marius Fransman.
Colonel Sebata Mokwabone told Algoafm News that details of the case cannot be disclosed to allow for the investigations to continue.
Makwabone added that no arrest have been made.
"I am not in a position to confirm the details of the suspect. but we confirm that a case has been opened.It is under investigation and no one has been arrested" he said.
ANC National Spokesperson, Zizi Kodwa also confirmed that a case had been opened against Fransman and that the ruling party will wait for the outcome of the police investigation.
The charge is believed to have been laid on Thursday night in the North West province at the Sun City police station.
The ANC is currently celebrating the 104th anniversary of the party's founding in North West
The Democratic Alliance has called for the immediate suspension of Fransman.
