A South Africa Airways (SAA) plane was grounded by aviation authorities this week over compliance concerns.
The aircraft was meant to fetch the Johnson & Johnson Covid-19 vaccine for South Africa from Belgium.
A batch of 80 000 doses arrived on Tuesday night on a different airline when the national carrier wasn’t given the green light to take to the skies.
It’s understood the concerns raised by the South African Civil Aviation Authority (SACAA) relate to the flying hours of the pilots that would have flown the aircraft to Brussels.
