A South African Airways crew member was arrested at the OR Tambo International airport in Johannesburg on Friday, for allegedly trafficking drugs from Sao Paulo, Brazil into South Africa.
Hawks spokesperson, Captain Paul Ramaloko says the 34-year-old flight attendant was found with nearly two kilograms of cocaine, estimated to have a street value of R300,000.
He says she had wrapped the drugs on the upper part of her body, under her clothes.
Ramaloko says she was under surveillance for some time and was apparently part of a drug trafficking syndicate between the two countries.
She is expected to appear in the Kempton Park Magistrate's Court on Monday.
