A board of inquiry will be convened to probe a shooting incident between South African soldiers and Mozambican border police.
In a terse statement on Monday, the SANDF said the incident occurred on Sunday afternoon in the area of Ndumo, east of Farazella, along the KwaZulu Natal border.
"Our soldiers were conducting routine patrol as part of borderline protection when this incident occurred. Details around this incident are still sketchy and reasons for the shooting are not yet known," the SANDF said.
"A Board of Inquiry will be convened to determine the cause of the incident."
No further details were provided.
