South Africa has failed its people on the most basic human right of sanitation.
That's according to the head of a ministerial sanitation task team, Winnie Madikizela-Mandela.
In a speech prepared for delivery at a workshop today, Madikizela-Mandela, said South Africa still faces immense challenges related to water and sanitation.
She says government needs to revisit what went wrong.
Madikizela-Mandela was unable to attend the workshop because she is recovering from an operation but her speech was read to delegates by task team member Fazel Randera.
