HONG KONG, April (ANA) - South Africa beat New Zealand 29-7 to claim bronze at the Hong Kong Sevens series event on Sunday.
Following their 26-24 defeat to Fiji in their semi-final, South Africa bounced back with a comprehensive performance against the Kiwis.
Stedman Gans picked up two tries in the early stages of the contest, with captain Dewald Human adding another to take South Africa out to a 17-0 lead.
James Ng Shiu replied for New Zealand before the break, but in the second half, unanswered tries from Zain Davids and Muller du Plessis sealed the contest for South Africa.
