A 35-year-old man has died while competing in the Two Oceans Marathon in Cape Town.
Organisors said Saturday that the man had collapsed and paramedics were unable to resuscitate him.
The deceased runner had been participating in his fourth half marathon and was an avid runner.
"As organisers of the Old Mutual Two Oceans Marathon (OMTOM) we wish to extend our sincerest condolences to the family and friends of the deceased," a brief statement said.
