The young truck driver who lost control of his vehicle, smashing into 50 cars in Durban, has handed himself over to authorities.
He fled the scene after Monday morning's dramatic crash on the M41 in Umhlanga.
According to reports, traffic was moving slowly at the time that the truck ploughed into dozens of cars, injuring 15 people, including a pregnant woman who had to be airlifted to hospital.
Kwazulu Natal police spokesperson, Constable Thenjiswa Ngcobo, said the 23-year-old man handed himself over to police on Monday night.
He is due to appear in court soon on charges of reckless and negligent driving
