Police are trying to get to the bottom of the brutal murder of a pensioner in Kanyamazane, 27 kilometres outside Nelspruit, last week, Mpumalanga police said on Monday.
“Police have launched a manhunt for suspect(s) following the gruesome murder of a 61-year-old man, identified as Albert George Simelane,” a statement from police said.
“Simelane’s body was discovered by an on duty police officer in the early hours of Wednesday, 23 August 2017, at Extension 4 in Kanyamazane.”
Police said they’re still trying to establish the motive for the killing but have not ruled out the possibility that is was a ” ritual killing”.
