The Road Freight Employers Association has approached the Labour Court with an urgent application to request relief from strike violence.
Spokesperson, Magretia Brown-Engelbrecht, says the matter is set down for this afternoon.
The application comes as employers and unions meet again to resolve the impasse that has led to a wage strike.
Meanwhile, the SA Transport and Allied Workers Union says its hopeful that today's talks might result in a double digit salary offer.
Satawu's Vincent Masoga says they also condemn the violence that has marred the drivers' strike.
"We are condemning any form of violence and intimidation. Our members are highly peaceful and disciplined and highly respectful and lawful, so at this point in time we deny any form of violence" Masoga said.
