Petra Diamonds Limited on Friday announced that the exceptional 121,26 carat white diamond recovered at the Cullinan Mine in South Africa had sold for US$6 million (US$49,480 per carat).
The transaction was part of the company’s June sales process in Johannesburg.
The stone has been bought by a joint venture comprising Nemesis International and Golden Yellow Diamonds, two leading diamond manufacturers who specialise in large diamonds.

Its Cullinan Mine, outside the capital Pretoria, is renowned as a source of large, high-quality gem diamonds, including Type II stones, as well as
being the world’s most important source of rare blue diamonds.
