Queen’s Commonwealth Games Baton makes a stop in Mozambique – now for Swaziland, Lesotho and SA

Mozambique has become one of the latest countries to receive the Gold Coast 2018 Queen’s Baton, which is a build-up to the Commonwealth Games to be held in that area of Australia next year.

The citizens of Mozambique’s capital, Maputo, reacted favourable to the Baton and its design which reflects the ocean of the Gold Coast.

While in Mozambique, the Queen’s Baton ended that part of its long journey at the Commonwealth Games Association (CGA) and National Olympic Committee’s headquarters.

The Queen’s Baton is now in Swaziland and will continue to Lesotho and then to South Africa, where its African journey will come to an end before heading to the Caribbean. – African News Agency (ANA)
