The investigation by the Office of the Public Protector into whether President Cyril Ramaphosa had violated the Executive Ethics Code in the Phala Phala scandal, has been completed.
Executive Manager, Vusumzi Dlamini, says an interim report has been drafted for internal review, before being distributed to all parties.
“An interim report has already been drafted by the investigation team. The interim report has been scheduled to serve through the internal review structures for quality assurance purposes,” he said.
Dlamini says once the quality assurance process is completed, the interim report will then be served to the relevant parties
The complaint against the President was laid by the African Transformation Movement.
ATM national spokesperson, Zama Ntshona, said that retired Chief Justice, Sandile Ngcobo and his Parliamentary-appointed inquiry had concluded that prima facie the President had violated his oath of office and may have violated anti-corruption laws.
"The big question now is will Advocate Gcaleka and her staff find differently. The ATM eagerly awaits these findings of the Acting Public Protector on this matter," he said.
Ntshona said her stance and position on this matter will, among other things, tell of her commitment to justice prevailing in this country through her office.
