The Passenger Rail Agency of SA's board aborted it’s much anticipated press briefing shortly before it started on Friday.
There were gasps of frustration and disbelief from numerous journalists at the Prasa offices in Hatfield, Pretoria when the group’s chief strategy officer Sipho Sithole announced the cancellation.
Sithole said that after further consultation with the minister, the board had felt that the statement that was issued on Thursday was sufficient and there would be no press conference on Friday.
The briefing was scheduled to centre around the axing of Prasa Group chief executive Lucky Montana.
The fired executive is scheduled to hold a briefing later in Johannesburg.
