Two men from the Free State are expected to appear in court soon after they allegedly stole potatoes on a farm in Petrus Steyn.
The town is situated between Tweeling and Kroonstad and the area is known for wheat, maize, sunflowers and potatoes.
The suspects aged 22 and 25 will appear in the Lindley Magistrates court on a charge of theft.
The men were arrested by members of security who then alerted the farmer.
The two were handed over to police to be charged.
