Political analyst - Protas Madlala believes President Jacob Zuma's decision to establish an inquiry into National Prosecuting Authority head - Mxolisi Nxasana - shows due process was not followed when he was appointed.
Nxasana was denied security clearance - after he apparently failed to disclose his entire criminal record - which included an acquittal on a murder charge in Umlazi in 1985.
Madlala says Zuma should have listened to opposition parties' concerns about Nxasana's fitness to occupy the post before he appointed him.
"They were warned that this man has some questionable past, yet they insisted on appointing him. I think if they had listen to opposition parties raising some objections it would not have come to this embarrassing situation." says Madlala
