A policeman, assigned to the Beit Bridge border post, has been arrested by the Hawks after soliciting a bribe.
Limpopo police spokesperson, Brigadier Hangwani Mulaudzi says the warrant officer, who works in the Vehicle Identification Section at Beit Bridge, was handling a case in which a Gauteng-based suspect was arrested for being in possession of a stolen vehicle.
He says the policeman allegedly asked for a R10,000 bribe to assist the Gauteng man with his case.
Mulaudzi says the man reported the incident to the police and the Hawks arrested the policeman in Musina with R10,000 in his possession.
He will appear in court on Monday.
Since the beginning of the year, 52 police officers were arrested in Limpopo on charges of corruption.
