Provincial police spokesperson, Brigadier Novela Potelwa, said members of the multi-disciplinary team also seized thousands of mandrax tablets and heroin during the intelligence-driven raids on Monday night.
She said the operation was the culmination of weeks of monitoring the movements of the suspects.
Brigadier Potelwa said at the first storage facility in Belville, officers found an assortment of weapons including AK47s, R5 rifles, Uzzi machine guns, shotguns, pistols, revolvers and six M26 hand grenades.
She said further investigation led officers to another storage facility in Stikland where a package containing two kilograms of heroin was found.
“As the investigation continues, the possibility of further arrests (being) effected cannot be ruled out.
“The efforts of the team have been commended by SAPS management as the Western Cape battles shooting incidents that result murder and attempted murder cases,” Potelwa said.
