Police officer and suspect among seven killed in horror crash

Seven people, including a police officer and a criminal suspect, perished in a horror accident in Limpopo on Sunday.

Police spokesperson, Sergeant Maphure Manamela, said the accident happened on the R101 between Mookgopong and Mokopane in the early hours of the morning.

He said the head-on collision left five people dead in one car and a police officer and a suspect dead in a police vehicle.

Manamela said the driver of the police vehicle was rushed to hospital in serious condition.

The cause of the accident is still under investigation.
