Murder-accused paralympian Oscar Pistorius' legal costs during his week of detention probably amounted to R1.2 million.
Legal expert, professor Tom Coetzee says the week during which his bail application was heard, his legal costs were probably anything between R1 million and R1.2 million.
He says this is a "very conservative" estimate.
Coetzee says this is only the beginning. Until his next court appearance in June, consultations will continuously take place, and the trial itself will make the current bill look small.
Pistorius is facing a murder charge after shooting his model girlfriend, Reeva Steenkamp, on Valentine's Day.
